This area gets more than 300 days of sunshine in an average year, which makes for great weather for golf and other outdoor sports and recreation. Local activities include hiking, camping and fishing in any of several man-made lakes or ponds found throughout the Valley.

Prescott Frontier Days boasts the Oldest Rodeo in the World. The Rodeo has been around since 1888 and is held over the week of the Fourth of July. The rodeo began when a group of businessmen and merchants offered cash and prizes for the first ever cowboy tournament.
